Sheraton Chest of Drawers
Sheraton Chest of Drawers
I've done a number of these chests, all in figured maple. Based on several examples from the Valley of Virginia and Charlottesville, probably made between 1810 and 1830. Post/frame and panel, mortice and tenon construction, eith scratch-beaded drawer-fronts and top edge with an proud inlaid beading around the skirt and base. Very functional as well as decorative piece and a nice way to display beautiful wood. 46 inches high.
